Don’t end this Christmas season without visiting Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati City where the Festival of Lights is happening every 30 minutes from 6pm to 10pm daily until January 7, 2018.

Dinner at Kanin Club, Ayala Triangle Gardens

As Christmas approaches, I together with close friends, officemates at the same time decided to have dinner at Kanin Club in Ayala Triangle Gardens.  This was not our first time to dine there.  But whenever we feel like going to Ayala Triangle Gardens, Kanin Club is always on top of our list.

This was the scene at Kanin Club that night.  Those people outside were waiting for their seats.  We were at number 8 (as far as I remember) on the waiting list when we arrived.

Btw, for those who don’t know Kanin Club yet, it is not a club/night club (hehe).  It is a restaurant that serves Filipino dishes with branches in Laguna, Muntinlupa, Quezon City, Mandaluyong and of course Makati.

And the ambiance, very Filipino.  With wooden floors and capiz windows, feels like dining at Vigan, one of the oldest and preserved towns/cities in the country.

Even if we already gave our orders before we got our seats, we still waited for 30 minutes I guess before orders arrived.



We didn't think much on what to order.  We just ordered our favorite Crispy Dinuguan and Seafood Kare Kare.

I think, it shouldn't be called Seafood Kare Kare.  It should be Tahong (Mussels) Kare Kare cause the plate had a great number of mussels on it than any other kind of seafood.  There were only 2 pcs. of shrimp on the plate which I’m very much sure.  Anyway, the taste is good except for the Bagoong Alamang.  Bagoong Alamang of Barrio Fiesta and Cabalen is still the best for me.

We also ordered Pancit Bihon for a change.  And, we truly liked it.  It is not too moist and not too dry.  My friends and I have the same opinion about the taste, the taste is what we actually looking for a Pancit Bihon.

And, to be an official member of the club, kanin (rice) should be included in list of orders (just kidding haha).  Well for me, I wouldn't appreciate those delicious dishes without kanin or rice.

After we have finished our dinner, we visited the famous Ayala Triangle Gardens Lights and Sounds Show.  Well, I won’t say much about this show or the place since I have been posting it more than once in this site.  And hey, I am not paid to keep on mentioning Ayala Triangle Gardens hehe.  I don’t know if Ayala would be thankful of me or the opposite but I don’t have that number of viewers and followers so my views don’t really exist in the whole blogosphere hehe.

Hope I could dine again at Kanin Club.  There are lots of food choices in their menu so even if I dined there more than once, I have a lot of dish that I still haven’t and want to try.  Before I forget, their servings are really big.  Those orders I've mentioned was more than enough for us five.

Yes!  Ayala Triangle Gardens Lights and Sounds Show is happening now, I mean every 30 minutes from 6 to 9 pm daily.  It started yesterday, November 16 and will end on December 30 this year.

Before or after watching and listening at the said show, you may want to have dinner or try one or more of the following restaurants in Ayala Triangle Gardens:

Christmas Lights Show at Ayala Triangle Gardens

It’s the beginning of “ber” month.  Everybody’s talking about Christmas being near.  Some are excited especially kids, and adults too because of Christmas bonus and the likes (that includes me hehe).  You could hear Christmas songs in malls and sometimes playing in radio stations.  One of the things I like about this season is Christmas décor.  How I love seeing Christmas trees and Christmas lights at night along the roads, on malls and some big establishments; and parks.

And one of the places I’m looking forward to is the Christmas lights at Ayala Triangle Gardens, right in the middle of Makati Central District.  There were thousands of Christmas lights that seemed to be dancing to the rhythm of a piped-in symphony.

The event was ended last year, December 30.  I am lucky to witness the Christmas lights show not only once and that’s for having an office near or walking distance to Ayala Triangle.  It was an early evening after-office hours treat, from 6pm to 9pm as far as I remember.

I totally loved it!  That made me shed tears (almost) seeing those Christmas lights change in various colors while listening to the Christmas songs.



Today, Ayala Triangle is one of the Metro Manila’s tourist destinations.  If you want to visit the place, you may take MRT (Metro Rail Transit) and drop off at Ayala Station.  From there, you may ride a jeep or taxi; or just walk which I prefer personally.  There are restaurants inside Ayala Triangle Gardens.  If you want to eat Filipino dishes, I suggest Kanin Club.  There, I like Seafood Kare Kare and Crispy Dinuguan, served with rice of course.  And if you’re craving for delicious desserts, try Banapple Pies and Cheesecakes.  Anyways, there are a lot more restaurants to choose from.

Aside from dining and strolling, Ayala Triangle Gardens has been a place for jogging.  Whenever I pass by the gardens at night, going home actually, I see a lot of joggers around the park.  Well, I’m one of those before.  It has been a couple of months I think since the last time I jogged there with a friend/officemate.

So bring your family and friends at Ayala Triangle Gardens especially this coming December 2012.  I brought my family there last December 2011 and they had so much fun.
